Customer Reviews

Broken screen two times!
After reading reviews I was convinced that this was a great TV. So, I bought one from Amazon, and I got after 2 weeks. However, the TV screen was broken, so Amazon sent a replacement, and after one more week, I received the TV…with the screen broken AGAIN! So, I’m not sure if this is a problem with the TV, with the packaging or the company who delivery the Amazon items (CEVA). Whatever is the case, I have the feeling that the TV is really fragile, and you will have to be really careful if you want to move this around.
My next move? I will buy a LCD from another brand (Sony, Samsung, etc.)

Awesome HDTV!
This is a great product. Since picking up the set at Best Buy (and using the Amazon price to knock $[...] off their retail price) I have enjoyed every minute of watching this TV. The picture quality is stunning, and the set is built well. The menus are intuitive and well laid-out.

Don’t worry about the common plasma myths. Check out [...] for information on modern plasma displays. In my opinion, they are currently the best HD technology.

Note: if you want to connect to your PC, consider the Viera TH-42PZ85U, as the 80U does not have a PC input.

Spectacular!!
What do you expect when you decide to spring for a new HD TV? A spectacular image that blows away your previous non-HD television, right? The Panasonic Viera plasma tv is exactly that - it is a spectacular image, and if you love sports, get the plasma TV. The blacks are black and the contrast is amazing. Love the 3 HDMI ports on the new Viera set and programming seems quite easy (even my wife can figure it out - HA!) Anyway, if you want a fabulous reliable image get the Panasonic Viera Plasma.

Couldn’t Be Happier
I agonized for quite a while about this purchase, as it’s quite a sizable one.

LCD or Plasma, 720P or 1080P…and while I know that you don’t necessarily need 1080P, I’m so happy with this purchase, the picture is phenomenal, set up was easy, and it’s just so pretty…even when it’s turned off, the set is gorgeous.

I can’t believe I was without HD for so long!

so far so good
I just got this set which replaced a toshiba projection hd which had repairs once a year. Picture quality is very good with nice blacks and crisp edges. set up was fairly easy except my dish net box did not like the hdmi connection… one new dish reciever later all is well. My only objection is the sound quality is only fair and the set needs the addition of a surround system. for now my old sony reciever and bose speakers will have to do….otherwise i would have given it 5 stars.
